    The very strnog Moscow Open A group saw Boris Savchenko win with 7.5 out of 9. Pre-tournament favorite Ian Nepomniatchi finished tied second with 7 points in a  group with Maletin, Mamedov, Kokarev, Iturrizaga, Sandipan, Matinian, Khairullin, and Smirnov.
