    Reggio Emilia 2012

    We are pleased to provide you with annotated games from a super-strong Grandmaster event in Reggio Emilia, Italy, that took place January 2012.

    Playing each other twice were world-class Grandmasters Vassily Ivanchuk, Nikita Vitiugov, Hikaru Nakamura, Anish Giri, Fabio Caruana, and Alexander Morozevich.   Ivanchuk and Nakamura both started out very strongly but faded badly towards the end.  Young Dutch prodigy Anish Giri scored his first super-tournament victory!
